We are looking for a Senior Application Engineer who will act as the key connection between our engineering teams and customers. In this role, you will build trusted relationships, align technical expectations and lead engineering activities for OEM projects across the off-highway, on-highway, industrial and agricultural sectors.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO AS A SENIOR APPLICATION ENGINEER?
- Act as the main technical point of contact between NRF engineering teams and customers.
- Build trust-based customer relationships, manage expectations and ensure continuous technical alignment.
- Lead engineering activities for OEM off-highway and industrial projects.
- Review customer specifications and technical requirements included in RFQs.
- Develop technical proposals and discuss proposed solutions with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Assess conceptual designs and technical drawings using 2D and 3D CAD tools.
- Develop and refine conceptual designs in line with customer specifications.
- Interpret structural and CFD analysis reports and use their results to support design decisions.
- Prepare bills of materials and provide clear technical input to support accurate component costing.
- Communicate directly with customers to gather additional information about applications, operating conditions and technical requirements.
- Present and explain technical proposals, Design Verification Plans and FMEAs.
- Monitor customer design changes and ensure that relevant updates are communicated to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, including information about changes to requirements, specifications and project timelines.
- Coordinate activities with Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Quality and Purchasing teams.
- Support technical decision-making, troubleshooting and problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.
- Cooperate with remote and multicultural engineering teams.
- Travel occasionally to customers, suppliers and other NRF locations when required
WHAT DO YOU BRING AS A SENIOR APPLICATION ENGINEER?
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with a thermal or design specialization.
- More than five years of relevant engineering experience.
- Experience in application engineering, technical project coordination or product development.
- Experience working with OEM projects within the off-highway, on-highway, industrial or agricultural sectors.
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid flow.
- Experience reviewing RFQs and preparing technical and commercial proposals.
- Practical knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD tools.
- Experience with engineering software such as CFD tools, KULI, Mathcad, ANSYS, HyperWorks or other CAD systems.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings, structural calculations and CFD analysis reports.
- Strong project management, planning and organizational skills.
- The ability to manage multiple technical priorities in a dynamic international environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Confidence in communicating technical concepts directly to customers.
- A structured, well-organized and solution-oriented way of working.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience working with remote or international engineering teams. Experience cooperating with teams in India would be an advantage.
- Professional proficiency in English. Knowledge of another language would be an advantage.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 would be appreciated.
