Are you technically skilled, service-oriented and passionate about the maritime industry? Do you enjoy working independently, travelling internationally and solving technical challenges on board vessels and at shipyards? Then NRF is looking for you!

About the job

As a Marine Field Service Engineer at NRF, you will support our Marine Aftermarket division by providing technical service and support to customers in the Netherlands and internationally.

This is a dynamic and hands-on role in which no two days are the same. You will travel to customers, vessels and shipyards to perform service and maintenance activities, provide technical advice and supervise installations. You will also support customers remotely and work closely with colleagues, customers and partner companies to find the right technical solutions.

When you are not working in the field, you will support our Aftermarket activities from the office or remotely, for example by preparing spare parts quotations and following up on customer requirements.

You will receive the necessary training to further develop yourself as a Marine Field Service Engineer, with opportunities to grow within our Marine Aftermarket organization.

What are you going to do?

  • Visit customers, vessels and shipyards in the Netherlands and internationally.
  • Perform service and maintenance activities on board vessels.
  • Provide technical advice to customers on board or at shipyards.
  • Identify, assess and resolve technical issues in consultation with our factory and technical teams.
  • Provide remote troubleshooting and technical support via email and telephone.
  • Supervise installations during dry-docking projects worldwide when required.
  • Collaborate with customers, shipyards and partner companies.
  • Analyse customer requirements and spare parts consumption to anticipate future needs.
  • Follow up on spare parts requirements and prepare quotations for Marine Aftermarket orders.
  • Promote and support the use of NRF's Marine order platform, including the use of IMO/ENI information to anticipate customer needs.
  • Prepare clear and concise service reports following customer visits and technical activities.

What do you bring?

  • You have completed at least a technical MBO-level education or have a comparable level of technical knowledge and experience.
  • You have experience in, or a strong affinity with, the maritime industry.
  • You have a good technical understanding and enjoy identifying and solving technical problems.
  • You have a service-oriented and customer-focused mindset.
  • You are able to prepare clear and concise technical reports.
  • You are proficient in both Dutch and English, written and spoken.
  • You are comfortable working with MS Office.
  • Experience with ERP systems is preferred; experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX/Axapta is considered an advantage.

About the team

You will become part of NRF’s Marine Aftermarket team, working closely with colleagues across Sales, Service, Engineering and our production facilities. Together, you ensure that customers receive high-quality technical support and reliable solutions, wherever they operate.

NRF is an international organization with an open and informal working environment. We value collaboration, responsibility and personal development. You will receive training and support to develop your technical and service expertise, while gradually taking on more responsibility.
